The Ubly Fox Hunters are hosting a weekend fun run during the Labor Day Holiday. We have rustic camping available at our private pond and will be planning daily rides. We will be touring the Huron County shoreline and many of the scenic rural roads throughout the area. Our county is ORV friendly!

The town of Elkton is having their annual Autumn Fest then also. They will be having many activities including enduro races, demolition derby, car show, food venders & a beverage tent with nightly entertainment.

The Irons Area Tourist Association will be hosting a ORV Safety Training Class on Saturday June 23rd, 2012, 9am-3pm at Skinner Park in Irons, Mi. The class will be open to ages 10 and up. The class will be held during the annual Flea Roast & Ox Market and is free of charge. However, Flea Roast & Ox Market parking fees will apply ($7 per carload). Class size will be restricted to 24 students. Pre-registration can be made via email at info@ironsarea.com Please include the Students Name, Age, and Telephone Number. Vacant seats the day of the class will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Four-wheeling and off-road driving could get more expensive in Michigan under a proposal that would more than double the vehicle license fees.

Gov. Rick Snyder recommended increasing the off-road vehicle license fee from $16.25 per year to $35 starting in fiscal 2013, and then up to $45 the following year.
Most of the funds go toward maintaining and improving some 3,200 miles of trails - work that Bill Gilbert said is greatly needed.


But Gilbert, director of the Michigan ORV Safety Association in Burton, said he’s concerned about the fee hike.
“More and more people are not going to be able to afford this sport,” he said. “Some of these families have three, four, five dirt bikes or four wheelers.”
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will discuss the fee proposal at a House subcommittee hearing at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Michigan last raised its ORV license fee from $10 to $16.25 in 1996.
